The large-span slab with low ribs behaves as a dimensional object under lateral load. Its reaction to the external forces is more reasonable, thus its concrete reinforcement is less. It may be placed once to form on spot, so its construction is convenient and its construction is short. It adapts to the large span residence building especially. With the development of the residential functional diversification and the elevation of people'standard for buildings'indoor beauty, irregular slabs always emerge in realistic residences, and the most irregular slab is the L-shaped slab. The domestic and overseas researchs on L-shaped reinforced concrete slabs are rich presently. This paper has researched the calculation and design methods of the L-shaped large-span slab with low ribs.Adopting the ANSYS beam-shell element, the author has analysed the L-shaped large-span slab with low ribs in this paper. Programming with application development of ANSYS, the author achieved to establish the models of the L-shaped large-span slab with low ribs and extract data from the results automatically. On the platform, mass modeling and calculation have been done, then flexibility of the L-shaped large-span slab with low ribs, bending moments and shearing forces of the ribs with T-shaped section were analysed, size of the gap was discussed for the affection to the L-shaped large-span slab with low ribs, and these works provide a good reference for proposing the design and calculation methods.Whereafter, on the basis of preliminary works, the author made some forms of coefficient for flexibility and coefficient for bending moments. With the help of these forms, the L-shaped large-span slab with low ribs can be handled as the rectangular large-span slab with low ribs. Then an example is given to compare the simplified calculation method with the direct calculation method, The results of the simplified calculation method is ideal, this prove that the simplified calculation method is of accuracy and reliability. Finally, according to the analysis on the L-shaped large-span slab with low ribs, the author provided the consolidation and construction measures, as an result to offer reference to project designer.
