Research On Street Patterns Through History Of Baoqing Block Of Hanzhengjie Area

Hanzhengjie is a distric which originated from business. On the history there were many businessmen who came from all around of China,and the foreigners were many more than natives.Most of foreigners lived together who came from the same region or the same occupation,then many special dwelling districs appeared.Some of them still have been here till now, Baoqing block is a typical dwelling district of which.Baoqing people who lived in Hankow have been experiencing successively more than 200 years,and they boomed Baoqing block immediately. In Qing dynasty middle period, Baoqing people arrived in Hankow,and they turn one desolate barren land into a special residential area. With Baoqing wharf booming, the wharf culture which was filled with fascination was conceived in the history. The urban tissue of Baoqing block became to differ from the Hanzhengjie area,the street patterns were branded by profound Baoqing cultural.When Baoqing people were integrated to Hankow, their habit and cultural also had changed quietly.It is exciting to found out some clues on the urban spaces.Owing to Baoqing block developing,this paper mainly analyzes the formation and development of Baoqing block with the theories of cultural anthropology and urban morphology. It concernes two aspects: one is the relationship between Baoqing block's developing and its street patterns, with analyzing how Baoqing gang's self-government, social custom and important history affairs to influence the city shape;the other is the relationship between street patterns and urban tissue, fixing attention on two kinds of street patterns how to integration in Baoqing block.Basing on studying the urban spaces, the research induces the humanities value of Baoqing block, and put forward some views about how to develop Baoqing culture, wharf culture and foreign communities.Basing on this research, we can reappear the process of Baoqing block developing, discover the regulation and culture value of historical block, provide some reference for city renewal.On the other hand,through the analysis on historical data and present condition, we can reappear the process that Baoqing people (a second cultural community) how to integrate in Hankow. to some extent. It has important meaning for analyzing the diverse social composing and development in hanzhengjie area.
