The Research Of Shaoxing City Landscape Features On Jiefang Road

City Street Landscape is an important component and the framework of the urban landscape. Given that the streetscape is unique and vibrant, urban landscape will also becomes more unique and rich. The ancient city of Shaoxing has 2500 year's construction history which is one of the oldest cities in China. After going through several thousand years of life rise and fall, this ancient city has not changed much so far with its original style integrated and is a great miracle in China's architechtural history. As the state council announced that Shaoxing as one of the first batch of 24 historical and cultural cities.Shaoxing has started on the characteristics of shape in the early days,but in order to expand the size of the city and accelerate the modernization, we have also carried out large scale road building and river filling as well as the old city construction project .On one hand, people's living standards and living enviroment have been greatly improved. On the other hand, the traditional pattern of river and street have been severely damaged .Some valuable historical and cultural heritage have become a memory, urban geographical and cultural characteristics are gradually fading away.Characteristics is the life of the city , in any case the losing of memory and characteristics of the city are not an ideal in people's mind. We conducted this paper in objective and in-depth ways through investigation,analysis, documentation and other research methods in exploring and researching the Jiefang Road streetscape within the scope of Shaoxing city as well as evaluating from objective view to decide whether it is of the characteristics or not. In the course of elaborating, we interluded the reasons for the loss of landscape features and characteristics,which stressed the importance of the feather of streets of a city landscape,in the end we explored on how to create a unique landscape of city streets.
