Study On A Closed Loop Controlled Port Assisted Air Injection System With Dual-Catalyst Converter To Meet EURO III For Motorcycles

For mass producing motorcycles, the key points are minimum modification, more reliable and lowest cost increase, in order to improve motorcycle's emission from Euro II standard to Euro III standard. The thesis is studying how to adopt a technique, a closed loop controlled, port assisted air injection system with dual-catalyst converter, to re-develop and modify and test for ZIPSTAR brand LZX200GY-2 two-wheel motorcycle to meet the regulation of Euro III.At first, the thesis points out the effect factors of CO,HC,NOx emission, explains the operating principle of the technique, a closed loop controlled, port assisted air injection system with dual-catalyst converter, then propose the different solutions for different engine operating cases.The thesis summarized detail modification steps, and a method of setting primary control parameter. It describes main modified components. Through summing and analysis the different test result, the results of performance improved is described, including a list of main variable parameter involved, and main new parts with characters controlling regarding modifying LZX200GY-2.Through a complete test, the modified motorcycle achieved requirement of the typical certification of Euro III Emission standard issued by RDW, supervising by TUV. It proves the technique of closed loop controlled, port assisted air port injection system with dual-catalyst converter is able to improve mass production motorcycles to meet Euro III. The solution is less modification, low cost increased, reliable, but it need higher consistency of mass production motorcycles.The study thesis has a complete, reality application value for mass production to meet Euro III, which meet Euro II before.
