Process Optimization For 170 Series Diesel Engine Pivotal Parts

It has been almost 15 years since the first 170 Diesel Engine was designed and developed by Weichai Power CO., Ltd. During the developing period ,there are four producing stages: trial-manufacture of sample diesel engine, small scale production, mass production, large lot. Now we have the producing ability of 5000 sets per year. In order to guarantee product quality of whole engine,ensure parts'provision in time, key parts(first class parts) such as cylinder block, crank shaft, connecting rods, cylinder heads, cam shaft are manufactured ourselves and the more important parts(second class parts) such as gear wheel housing, oil pan, fly wheel housing, fly wheel ect. The other parts are all co-operated.The author mainly wants to present several opinions to study and compare according to the process development of parts in 170 diesel engines and his own work experience. Speaking particularly,the presented opinions don't deny reality,because analysis in theory can never substitute practice. A best design in theory can not be a best one in practice restricted by impersonal condition. Present machine configuration is an optimized design through deep thought and counting the cost. It is the ultimate goal for the author to illumine readers'broad thoughts from the point of theory and progress together.
