The combines of strand mesh as reinforcement and polymer mortar as basic material is a new strengthening technology , which includes advantages of high-strength, fire-resistance, corrupt-protection, non-pollution and easy construction, etc. So there is great application prospect in strengthening of reinforced concrete structure. The main research content and achievements can be summed up in the following aspects:1. This paper has conducted a pilot study about shear strength in RC beams with strand mesh and polymer mortar, including 1 control specimen without strengthening and 5 strengthened beams ( 1 Ring-shape and 4 U-shape ). The experimental purpose is for observationing crack developing situation and failure models in process, strain and displacement changes, and shearing limit. The experimental results indicate that the thin layer of strand mesh and polymer mortar could enhance shear limit obviously, and improve resistance, etc.2. The first to use ANSYS finite element procedure simulates the experiment, and the results in good agreement with experiment, which demonstrates the feasibility of simulation. Then in span ratio, longitudinal bar ratio, stirrup ratio, concrete compression strength and strand numbers, etc, making use of ANSYS finite element procedure to analysis the strengthened RC beams on shear, to indentify the effect of every parameter to shear strengthening.3. On the bases of experimental research, according to the Truss-Arch Models'theory and shear mechanism of beams with strand mesh and polymer mortar, having deduced the formular applying to the calculation of shear strength of RC beams with strand mesh and polymer mortar, which is in good agreement with experimental value and can provide reference for actual projects.
