In-situ test is one of the means test that tests engineering properties of the soil in the original location and maintains the soil in the conditions of natural structure, natural moisture content and natural stress. So the in-situ testing technique can determine the soil parameters more accurately. In this thesis, aiming at the problems of the survey and design in the excavation engineering about the Tianjin Binhai New Area, from the point of strengthening the in-situ test, the main work is as following:1. After contrasting the in-situ test methods with the laboratory test methods and analyzing the in situ test results at home and abroad, coming to that it is important and necessary to enhancing the study of in-situ test methods.2. The development general situation of the excavation engineering is introduced. Then discussing several basic issues about the excavation engineering, and combined with previous research findings of in situ test, putting forward the test scheme about in-situ test in the Tianjin Binhai New Area.3. According to the pilot program, performing the DMT, CPT and VST in the soil above 20m in Tianjin Binhai New Area.4. Through analyzing the experimental data and compositive contrast, verifying the applicability of the empirical formula and the semi-empirical formula of in situ test for the soft soil in Tianjin Binhai New Area. The appropriate in-situ test methods and comprehensive evaluation methods for the excavation engineering are proposed.Research shows that in-situ test methods reflect the engineering properties of the soil more objectively and serve the survey and design of the excavation engineering better.
