With the increasing exploitation value of ocean resources, it's more frequent flying above sea. The aero-marine security and lifesaving ability are being concerned more and more. The helicopter emergency flotation system is therefore an important equipment to ensure security of ditching and stabilization of flotation.The emergency flotation bag is an important part of the helicopter emergency system. The study on the impact loads and the characteristic of the stress distribution is very important in the process of the emergency flotation system's development.In this way, the 1/5 proportional model of the helicopter emergency flotation bag was used on experimental measurements. The measurement data show that the impact load will be decreased rapidly when the attack angle is larger than 5°. And, it's validated that the value of impact load will be linearly increased with the increasing of ditching velocity and the pressure inside emergency bags.On the other hand, a finite element model was established by CAD software in computational simulation. And the ditching process was simulated by ANSYS/LS-DYNA software.Comparing the result of simulation with the experimental data, it's verified that they are in a good agreement, and can be useful to design the helicopter emergency flotation system.
