With the rising requirement for living conditions and intensification on energy saving or environmental protection by public, the conflicts among architecture, energy and environment become more and more drastic. Nowadays, architecture has already ranked the fastest increasing section in energy consumption. The portion of energy consumption by construction will rapidly increase to about 1/3 of total, at the same time, heating and air-conditioning consumption played the most important role in this portion.Evaporative cooling is one of the oldest methods of cooling for air or water.Nowadays, energy conservation and environmental protection are becoming the focus of attention. In the field of air-conditioning, it is increasingly important to make an effort to limit energy consumption and to use non-polluting refrigeration technologies. Especially, obtaining coolth from environment by evaporative cooling is one of environment friendly refrigeration technologies. Indirect evaporative cooling is one type of evaporative cooling technologies. It cools process air by indirect evaporating cooling effect without increasing its moisture content. This article made the following research:①At first, the state of the applications and technologies of evaporative cooling was analyzed comprehensively. The structure of indirect evaporative cooler and the heat transfer characteristic were also analyzed.②A mathematical model was developed for the fluid flow and the heat and mass transfer processes with simplifying assumptions. According to this conception.③Characteristics of climate along Yangtze River Valley were summarized. And analyze the characteristics of thermal and humid load about eight major cities of this region in the summer. The Trend of mean monthly temperature, humidity ratio, and humidity in these city were be analyzed. And put forward the calculation and evaluation method of cold load of fresh air which used in Yangtze River valley, it not only reflect the total amount characteristics of cold load of fresh air and reflects the relative size of sensible heat load and latent heat load, the characteristics of thermal of cold load of fresh air has been characterized. Which provide the theoretical basis for making the thermodynamic analysis scheme.④According to the LMTD andε-NTU thermo technical calculation methods after the thermo technical analysis of Plate-Fin indirect evaporative cooling is done, and obtained the relationships between the heat transfer efficiency and influencing factors⑤Analysis process of practical heat transfer effect and theory heat transfer effect were be list out by the experimental analysis; And compared the heat transfer coefficient and heat transfer efficiency of dry condition under the same experimental conditions, found that the heat transfer coefficient of wet condition 50% higher than dry condition. But the heat transfer efficiency 26% higher than dry condition. Fitting the mathematical equations of total heat transfer coefficient under the dry condition and wet condition with the experimental data.⑥The design procedure and method of spray indirect evaporative cooler were given which was used in Yangtze River valley. The energy saving rate was calculated about 7.7% which one-stage evaporative cooling with the mechanical refrigeration complex system compared to the traditional air-conditioning system. And the energy saving rate was 13.4%when it was two stage evaporative cooling.⑦The author combined regards the spray indirect evaporative cooling with liquid desiccant. It provided the energy for solution regeneration with condensing heat recovery, solar heat collection, and industrial waste heat and so on. The analysis showed through the above methods which can provide the all energy foe solution regeneration. And draw the concrete system diagram and related design procedure. Through the performance evaluation compound system,we find that the energy saving rate was 49.6% compared to the traditional air-conditioning system, which proved the spray indirect evaporative cooling was feasible to used in Yangtze River valley .and have a good energy saving effect.
