With the development of our society, power system is becoming more and more large and complicated. At the same time, it is required that power reliability should be better. Thus, the evaluation and improvement of reliability of the power system is paid more attention to. One significant function of the power station bus systems arrangement reliability assessment is to ensure supply quantity, and provide important reference information for power system planning and operation.At first, the paper introduces the definition and the characters of power station bus systems arrangement, the significance of research on reliability of power station bus systems arrangement. Moreover, the basic theory, model and algorithm on reliability evaluation of power station bus systems arrangement are also analyzed thoroughly. Simulation of switching action is required in the process of reliability evaluation. Three state Markov model has a simple form, is easy to understand and requires relatively less data. The model, however, can not successfully describe practical renovation actions and existing mutual dependencies. An extended model"uniform n+2 state system Markov model" is proposed based on three state Markov model and applied in the evaluation of particularity of substation system. With factors such as active, passive failures, scheduled maintenance, stuck breaker conditions and normally open components incorporated in the generalized n+2 state system model, it is more accurate compared to the conventional three state model. In this thesis the reliability evaluation of double busbar with bypass system and a breaker and one third system are analyzed based on the generalized n+2 state system Markov model.According to the components reliability and electric parameters of the bus systems arrangement of Luohuang power station, this thesis carries out reliability evaluation. Two cases of power grid operation modes are taken into consideration, which are maximal method of operation and average output method of operation. The reliability indices of the two cases are compared and their weak parts are analyzed based on the sensitivity indices, and analyzes the reason why the reliability indices are low and proposes suggestions how to improve the reliability.
