Study On Increasing The Parking Capacity Of Bus Stop

Promoting public transit is the effective means to resolve transportation problems in big cities. But as a part of public transit system, bus stop is always disorder and crowded that decreasing its'parking capacity, especially during the peak–hours. It reduces the attraction and hinders the development of public transportation. Therefore, it must to take some measures for increasing the capacity of bus stop.This paper analyses the problems of bus stop in our country at present and the factors influencing capacity of bus stop. It discusses how to increasing the capacity of bus stop in terms of macro, micro and management.From microcosmic aspect, the paper analyses the time of entering bus-stop, staying in bus-stop and leaving bus-stop carefully, and applies mathematical statistics to calculate the most appropriate numbers of lines in different kinds of bus-stop. Bus-stop is divided into three kinds. The paper puts forward different models for different bus stops in caculating the length and width of it.From macrocosmic aspect, the paper suggests to enlarge density of path line and use public transit precedence techniques.From management aspect, the paper discusses how to use intellectualized public transit system increasing capacity of bus-stop.
