Propeller is a kind of watercraft's thruster, which is used most widely. At present, CAD/CAM is being applied in many fields. This paper built the propeller design module on the platform of yacht design by using CAD/CAM technology. The module designs the Ma Propeller and builds the three-dimensional model automatically. At first, this paper introduced the present situation of yacht development, analyzed the application of computer in propeller design. Being different from general charts design and regression method, the paper put forward a brand-new charts design method and introduced the method detailedly. The propeller design module is built by Visual C++ and the 3-D model is built by Pro/ENGINNER, this paper gave the introduction of this two tools. Because the module is built on the presently platform of yacht design, this paper introduced the platform's macroscopical interface, the flow chart of program and the functions of all the modules. In succession, the paper gave the particular introduction of the propeller design module which carries out the charts design method by compiling Visual C++ program, gets the design results of the prime propeller and creates the form of the section's geometry parameters. The general propeller's plot is the propeller's collectivity drawing, but this paper is trying to build the 3-D model of the propeller using Pro/e by compiling the Pro/TOOKIT program. The module's mutual interface is friendly and simply to operate, the design results is proved to be comparatively exact by checking the practical example. The 3-D plot of propeller can be used to creates the substantial propeller's model by combining the automatization technology. It has the feasibility in the practical manufacture.
