Along with the spaning development of our railway and its speeding up once more and more, strict and advanced control style is required, it is impossible to be reached by man-operation. Train network is appeared, and it has been applied widely aboard, but just at the beginning in our country. Similarly, more security and comfortness are desired in automobile domain. There are more and more ECUs (Electronic Control Units) which work together and share information utilizing network. With on-board network as masterstroke, the inevitability of its appearing and its concept and feature are introduced. Besides, kinds of popular buses are illuminated to enable the development of on-board network more clear for readers. Then CAN bus which is applied very widely and is one standard of fieldbuses is select, and its specification and application layer are researched. On the base of theoretics research, diesel EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) ECU with CAN communication function is developed utilizing MMB integrated developing environment. A user-friendly human-machine interface is drawn with LabVIEW which has powerful graphic ability. Examinations are carried out and the result is according with antipative goal.As one part of on-board network, the development of ECU will become stable base for further experiments.
