Heeling is harmful to ship's safety, operability and economical efficiency, and the harm is especially serious to some special ships such as container ship, Ro-Ro ship, train ferry, heavy hoisting ship. Heeling of the ship can not only slow down the loading or unloading , but also can cause the ship unbalanced and finally keel over as the cargo may collided or locked on board the ship . So it is necessary to install anti-heeling equipment on these special ships.As the output of the pump is limited and also the pump need a certain period to start or reverse, the traditional anti-heeling equipment driven by pump or valve-switched can not adjust the ship quickly enough. The new type of anti-heeling equipment driven by compressed air can adjust the ship efficiently as it can start and turn the direction of water current immediately. The blower of the equipment working continuously, the connection pipe between the two sides of the balance tank can be designed wide, and the pneumatic heeling-control valve that is controlled by computer can close or open immediately, so that the water in the balance tank can flow, change direction, and stop quickly, and thus the air- driven anti-heeling equipment can compensate the heeling moment quickly enough to balance the ship.Currently, air- driven anti-heeling equipment supplied by international company had been commonly used in some special ships and can adjust these ships efficiently. But there is still no such product in our country till now, and research in this field is also too little. To bring the research of air- driven anti-heeling equipment into our country , and to provide some theory basis for the production of this equipment by ourselves, this thesis will research in the following fields based on the in-depth investigation: First , analyze the heeling movement in statics and kinematics respectively , deduct the relationship of the factors which affect the heeling movement of the ship , and found the mathematic model of the " free heeling movement of the ship "; Then , working-out the designing method and procedure of the transact framework of marine anti-heeling equipment driven by compressed air ; At last , found the mathematic model of the movement of "ship & anti- heeling equipment " system , and research the control method of the air- driven anti-heeling equipment primarily .
