DC flux controllable reactor can be applied in a wide range in power system. DC flux controllable reactor is a new type of controllable reactor. Compared with other controllable reactors, it has the advantages of simple configuration, less harmonic, relative less response time. The adjustable reactor can run normally and has larger regulating range, etc. This article has analyzed the characteristics of the DC flux controllable reactor by the way of analysis method, finite element analysis method and experiment.Firstly, this thesis has looked back on the development of magnetic valve controllable reactor and its situation today. The principle, advantage and disadvantage of every kind of controllable reactor have also been analyzed. In this thesis, the basic structure and the operation principle of DC flux controllable reactor have been studied, and the mathematic model has also been established. On the basis of these, the relationship between the harmonics and the saturation situation has been analyzed by the way of analysis method.Secondly, this paper has established two finite element analysis models with the material of non-oriented silicon steel sheet, one contains air, and the other not. Working characteristics have been analyzed completely by finite element analysis, such as: characteristics of impedance control, characteristics of current distortion, characteristic of excitation, characteristic of transient, characteristic of impedance. Furthermore, this paper has analyzed the influence on the working characteristics of the symmetry air gap and not air gap, and analyzed the symmetry influence on the transient characteristics of the high DC voltage. A DC flux controllable reactor has been manufactured according to the parameters of the finite element analysis model. This paper has made experiments on its working characteristics, which accord with the result of finite element analysis, and analyzed the power characteristic.Finally, A DC flux controllable reactor with the material of grain oriented silicon steel sheet has also been manufactured according to the parameters of finite element analysis model. The working characteristics has been researched by experiment, and the differences between the non-oriented silicon steel sheet reactor and grain oriented silicon steel sheet reactor have been analyzed.
