The design and research methods of structures had a great change as before.This paper introduced the fundamental of preflexed beam; Aggregated the research development of preflexed beam at home and abroad in the past years; Discussed the material modeling and selected the stress-strain relationship of steel and concrete which is suitable for the nonlinear analysis of preflex beam; Indicated the essential of material nonlinearities; Expounded how to set up the nonlinear equations and solve it ; Researched the layer theories based on section which is for nonlinear analysis of preflexed beam; Obtained the M -φand P -δcurves ; At last,writed the program to calculate strain,stress,internal force and deformation on each stage of preflexed beam.
