With the compute update and the study development of concrete constitutive relationship, R.C. nonlinear Analysis method has been in the age of finite element numeric analysis. Today, there are many R.C. nonlinear FEA programs, in which IDARC 2D( Inelastic Damage Analysis of Reinforced Concrete) is a famous planar R.C. nonlinear FEA program. IDARC 2D is powerful, but it uses the text file to input data, which makes the structure modeling complex and mistakeable. So it is necessary to develop a preprocessor for IDARC 2D to simplify the structure modeling, improve the work efficiency and preciseness.AutoCAD ObjectARX is the most popular technique in all AutoCAD secondary development techniques. ObjectARX provide an object-oriented class library based on C++ program language which provides powerful graphics editing function.The preprocessor studied in this article is also developed based on AutoCAD ObjectARX technique.This article first simply introduces the application and development of R.C. nonlinear FEA, then introduces and compares the various AutoCAD secondary development technique, and researches AutoCAD ObjectARX in the round. Last, a preprocessor for IDARC 2D is developed, which can reduce the complexity of structure modeling and improve the preciseness of data input.
