With the climate of globe being more warm, it is significant to pay more attention to energy saving. Building energy consumption is nearly 27.5% of the total energy consumption in China, 2006, trending to go up. For the sake of saving energy, it is needed to calculate building energy consumption, particularly accurate dynamic energy consumption calculation. And in the north of china, heating energy, one component of building energy, nearly 55% of building energy, so it is the key thing to forecast residential building heating energy and analyze the effect of energy saving.This paper has chosed a dwelling house applied with energy saving measures, and carried out the measurement from Jan.13 to Feb 15, then obtained thermal resistance by inspecting instantaneous temperature of outside and inside surface of wall, heat flow through the wall, this method depends on Standard Test Method for Steady-State Thermal Transmission Properties by Means of the Heat Flow Meter Apparatus. After comparing the thermal resistance by experiment and by formula, this paper has found, thermal resistance can change with the weather data, so the thermal resistance obtained by experiment is more accurate to calculate the energy consumption.On a basis of understanding the introduce of the organization and capabilities of the Energyplus software, this paper used the obtained thermal resistance instead of detailed capability of material, such as, thickness, conductivity, density, specific heat and so on to calculate energy consumption of the dwelling house, which was compared with energy consumption obtained by RM-H calorimeter.Energy comsuption measured by RM-H calorimeter is 1.237E+07KJ, while 1.197E+07KJ by the simulation of EnergyPlus, the difference between energy obtained by calorimeter and by simulation is 3.222%. So building energy simulation is proved to be a useful and reasonable method to predict energy consumption during the run period.This paper also found that, average thermal resistance of 14 days'can be used as the characteristic value of run periond.Taking consideration of both the thermal resistance and building energy simulation meathod, this pape would give a good advice during the process of energy saving and forecasting of heating energy consumption.
