The symbolic building is more and more popular with the Chinese city as the fast developing in economy and society. Under that background, the thesis analyzed the problems about the symbolic building with the theories of communication. It took the symbolic building's design and evaluating as a kind of communication and tried to find a better standard based on the public of the symbolic building's design. The way of analyzing had broken the theories of traditional architecture, and also had make the public's reading actors and adhere information of architect as the complements of the symbolic building's design and evaluate standard.Being seen from the communication, the symbolic building's designing and realization is a process that the architect delivered the symbolic information to the audience by symbolic building. One key of the process is the information's successful being understood by audience. The thesis took the audience and the information as important parts to analyze the symbolic building.The analyzing based on the principle"audience is the center"of communication. It studied the needs, attentions and attitudes of the audience and found out that there were many factors affecting the symbolic building's communication which were out of the theories of traditional architecture. It makes the architects design and evaluate the symbolize building not only follow the tradition theories but also based on the public who took a great part of the audience.The thesis also analyzed the information adhered to the symbolic building. It could also affect the result of the communication. By knowing that, the architects will pay more attention to the adhere information of the symbolic building as well as the information of the architecture itself.
