The stability analysis of geosythetics reinforcement slope has been an important topic in Geotechnical Engineering for many years. But the research depth is not inadequate, especially on mechanism of soil and reinforcement. Because of the choice of reinforcement in safe factor calculation is between limit strength and allowable strength , the result may be higher or lower than the real result. To this case, a type of more reasonable method in reinforcement strength calculation is proposedBased on the analysis of synchronization in exerting of the resistance of soil and reinforcement on unstable status, characteristic strain method is araised which means the strength and direction of reinforcement is calculated according to its strain level corresponding to the soil's strain when it is in shear failure.A new formulation of safe factor is deduced combined with Bishop method and the tension of reinforcement is calculated by characteristic strain method. The program of calculation is compiled and used to analyze the differences of safe factors calculated by our method and Swedish method and traditional Bishop method. Effects of every parameter on safe factor are made. The stress and displacements field of geosythetics reinforcement slope is analyzed in this paper. The followings are the main conclusions : (1) the result calculated by our method is more reasonable than by Swedish method and traditional Bishop method.(2)the shear band is acquired by finite element method where the movement and deformation of reinforcement indicates the reasonability of our method.
