Automobile Appearance Design Method Research Based On Morphology

Now the automobile industry develops fast in our country, and the auto market demand increases unceasingly, the automotive industry competition is intense, while the independent brand automobile appearance modelling design is relatively weak. The design workflow is lack of the thorough effective design analysis about the present situation. This paper applies correlation theories of the morphology, the psychology, the application statistics in the research, and propose automobile appearance design method based on the morphology.First, the essence and the characteristic of the shape language based on the morphology are studied, and the common rule and principle of beauty form in the product shape creation and the application in the automobile appearance modelling design are analyzed. In the mean time the main point of the automobile appearance modelling research in this paper is established, that is the study of the human esthetic psychological sensation regarding the shap from the morphology angle. This research takes overall image of the automobile appearance as the object of study.Second, the author designs an experiment based on psychology theoretical, selects the experimental sample and the testee with the scientific method, determines adjectives and constructs meaning meter baesd on morphology. After operating the experiment, taking the theory and method in the application statistics as a foundation, the author analyzes the empirical datum. The image distribution map is drawn, and the chart coordinates are determined according to principal components load matrix. The analysis to the image distribution map is carried on, the application method in the practical work is proposed. Finally, the automobile appearance design method based on morphology is proposed.This method may be utilized in enterprise's practical work. There will be good instruction function to the automobile appearance appraisal,analysis,and design work flow. It may make the work flow more scientific, consummate, thorough, and effective. The new vehicle designed in the sparse image space can be popular in the keen competition; furthermore it may stand in market by unique style for a long time.
