Hydraulic cylinders are one of the hydraulic action components, which are widely used to transfer hydraulic power produced by pump to mechanical power with the manner of straight movement. In this thesis, the parameterized design method for hydraulic cylinders is systemically and deeply studied, and the prototype software system for parameterized CAD of hydraulic cylinders is developed. The main contents are as follows:1. The work manners and main assembly styles are summarized on basis of systemic analysis for the work principles of hydraulic cylinders. The object-oriented design models for hydraulic cylinders based on assembly are constructed, after the structural characteristics of the main components of hydraulic cylinders are analyzed.2. Manufacturing oriented product feature modeling technologies, products based modeling method and object-oriented technologies are studied, and then the feature based product models of hydraulic cylinders are built. The modeling method for standard parts library and database technologies which can be used to parameterized design for hydraulic cylinders are studied, and then database and parameterized CAD models of hydraulic cylinders are constructed.3. The prototype software system for parameterized CAD of hydraulic cylinders is developed, commercial CAD software SolidWorks 2005 and its API are used as CAD platform, Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 as developing tools and Microsoft Access 2003 as bottom database.
