The high-rise building development is the need of commercialization, industrialization, and urbanized. As the urban population concentration, land shortage and commercial fierce competition, make the high-rise buildings to develop in the direction of multi-functional. According to the necessity of use function, a number of annex buildings with low-rise layout on the main building both sides. Because the load, stiffness of the mail and the annex building very different, so often lead to the main building and annex building foundation have a large settlement deviation. How to solve this problem has been one of the difficult problems of the engineering field.Through finite element method, the model of the interaction of tall buiding, thick raft foundation and soil is set up. Analysis is done considering different storeys, spans of podium and different storeys of tall building. It can be obtained that, for whole foundatioj of tall building with podium, the load deformation of tall building can spread through podium, but the spread range is limited. In this paper the compact of other factors, such as Raft Thckness and elastic ratio of soil layer etc,on foundation settlement and background reaction of the structure. Has enumerated several Xi'an area annex high-rise construction settlement observation example, analyzes its result; Primarily the skirt building whole connection provides a more powerful basis. The interaction of low-storied podiums with a high-rise building is studied through some simulation tests. Really, it is studied on the interaction of the frame structure thick raft foundation, and soil. The deformation and reaction of the thick raft foundation can be measured. It is obtained from the simulation tests and numerical analysis. It is shown that the engineering characteristics of whole raft foundation are closely related with the span of low -storied podium nearby the high-rise building. A new conception of the effective range of interaction is proposed in this paper.
