According to the characteristics of the coal management system of power plant, Proposed an intelligent decision system which realize coal categorized warehouse storage of power plant and an online coal blending optimization model suitable for plant operation. Using value tradeoff method evaluated the following five indicators: weighting factor: heating, volatile, sulfur, ash and prices; Based on these five indicators,coal was classified by grey synthetic clustering method. Using expert system completed coal storage; these made the foundation for realization of optimal coal-blending technology. Mixed coal parameters were predicted by neural network. The coal blending problems was solved by improved genetic algorithm. Neural network solved the problem of low predictable accuracy of the weighted average method. Meanwhile the coal blending problem got the optimal solution consistent with the actual situation of production through genetic algorithm. The case presented in this paper show that the program has certain theoretical and practical engineering value.
