In this paper, a series of experimental investigation is carried out aiming at optimize the sootblowing process of 410t/h boiler.In the same time, a method for the on-line monitoring of fouling and slagging on utility boiler heating surfaces is put forward, and the basic principle of which is stated. On the basis of the method, a suit of on-line monitoring system of fouling and slagging is developed to guide and optimize the process of sootblowing according to the study object, the HG-410/9.8-YM15 boiler .When choosing the monitoring parameter, we gave up the traditional thermal effective coefficient and dirty coefficient of dust, and chose the dirty parameter of dust, which is relatively easy to monitor. By applying the improved RPROP neural network instead of BP neural network, using the data from the DAS of the plant, we can acquire the dirty parameter of dust through definition. Based on the theory, without increasing or only increasing a few extra points, we developed the computer monitoring system of heating surface on fouling and slagging of coal-fired boiler, offering strong guarantee for security and economical operation of the unit.
