CAE technology, representatively FEA method, plays a more and more important role in the design of modern car products along with the development of computer technology and numerical calculation theory. It almost covers the most field of car design work. Adopting the FEA technology to investigate the mechanical performance of the car body is prevailing in modern design of car body, which catches people's attention more and more and has great achievements in the domain domestically and oversea.Based on the investigation of the related domestic and overseas research in this field, the finite element model of a SRV engine hood is established, frequency response analysis and modal analysis were carried on. To compare the result of the test model analysis about sample between the theories analysis, point out the shortage of the structure in static and dynamic, and provide the reference to optimization design. The optimization design of structure is also a part of this paper. The literature about this theme is summarized, the optimization is put forward, which are based on the gradient optimization and act well. The parametric model of the engine hood is established, Thickness/frequency gradient optimization is accomplished, which builds a firm foundation for the whole body optimization. This paper is based on the engineering item of ordinal design for automotive NVH of JAC. During this research, some summarization is carried on in allusion to the problems and difficulties, such as the simulation of weld spots in the FEA model, definition of the boundary condition, selection of modal analysis; In conclusion, this paper did a overall content and theoretic of finite element analysis, and provides a valuable consult for the further optimization of the whole car body and parts.
