The finite element analysis and strength design for cylinder block of LJ465Q-2A supercharged gasoline engine is the school-enterprise cooperation project the author participated in. The design object including 5 main components, cylinder block, cylinder head, crankshaft, piston and connecting rod. As a key member of the discussion group, under the direction of Professor Chen Shuxun, the author completed the finite element analysis and strength design of cylinder block. This is the research paper of the project.Firstly, a great amount of work was spent on building the relatively accurate physical and FEA model in ANSYS. In order to take the interrelationships of the related units into consideration, simplified models of the components that connected to cylinder block are also built. Secondly, through the structural FEA of 13 different loadcases, get the stress distributionm and the change law of stress. Then compare and discuss the differences of stress in cylinder block before and after supercharged. Point out the stress caused by working loads increased by 15%, the stress caused by working loads far below that caused by the bolt preloads. The result shows that the cylinder block strenth after supercharged could meet the requirement of design, and this provides a basis for the structural supercharge and strenth design.The processing mode of clamping bolt for cylinder block and its related components, along with its contact pairs, form the pivotal step of the FEA. Simulated the proloads of every bolt by using preload elements, and set amount of contact pairs between the components. By using the nonlinear analysis of contact pair, make the force to cylinder block more realistic than by traditional methods, then get more accurate analysis results.Finally, summing up a few issues of the work process, provid an important reference value to the structure analysis and design for cylinder block.
