Virtual Instrument which based on the latest computer technology in the world today and data collection and communication technology of nowadays world, used high-performance modularizational hardware, with highly efficient and flexible software to complete various tests, measurements and automatization applications. The paper in close connection with the current traffic safety and auto service development needs, by dint of software development platform LabVIEW designed software, grounded on safety regulations and standards GA/T485-2004 portable braking performance test instrument, using a unique data compute and analysis function of virtual Instrument to test braking performance of vehicle.At first, the paper introduced application research status quo of the currently vehicle braking performance testing technology, and then introduced software of LabVIEW and the characteristics of braking performance testing system which based on LabVIEW. Combine with the braking performance characteristics of vehicle and evaluation parameters, according to the request of national safety regulations and standards GA/T485-2004 portable braking performance test instrument, testing system is asked to have testing function. Hereby, the composing, working elements , frame of hardware, circuit design, development of test software and static calibration for testing system is designed. Innovation of paper is utilizing two axis acceleration sensor to acquire braking deceleration signal of running direction and vertical direction, and it also used software as the core of data compute and analysis, to analyse data instantly, at the same time show dynamic changing process of vehicle braking parameters with undee data and numerical value data. At last, taken HA FEI SAI MA HFJ7130 as test object, according to the requests of the standards of 7258-2004 technical conditions of the safe operation of motor vehicles and. GB12676-1999 automobile braking system structure, performance and test methodst to make some tests of the braking system performance. Test results indicated that testing system has stable performance, good sensitivity and high precision, which meet the design requirements of the target.
