On the basis of analysis and study of the propeller impeller,a new impeller is designed in view of the 300W Wind Energy Turbine adopting Glauert pneumatic method and flexible theory. The thickness ratio 8% NACA series is chosen as the profile of the impeller. Chords decrease from 162mm at 120mm of the rotor center to 76mm at the rotor tip and setting angles accordingly decrease from 13.5°to 0°.The output characteristic experiment is carried out in truck. It will reach the rated output power in 7.3m/s wind speed when air temperature is 14°C. In contrast,when temperature is 25°C, it will also reach the rated output power. By the contrast experiment of output power between the new impeller and the special impeller, which has the same diameter of 300W Wind Energy Turbine, it indicates that the new impeller will reach the rated output power first when temperature is 14°C or 25°C.According to the JB/T 10194-2000, the static load experiment including design loads and applied loads has been performed between the new impeller and the special impeller. When using applied loads, the tip displacement of the new impeller is 315mm and the special impeller's is 70mm. When using design loads, the tip displacement of the new impeller is 539mm and the special impeller's is 115mm.The experiment shows that the new impeller can decrease the shock to the wind generator system resulting from the load and extend the working life by using this new flexibility impeller. Besides it can increase the reliability and reduce the cost for mini type wind generator system.
