Chinese dietetic culture in the long river of history is a unceasing and diverse branch. With economic and social development and the changes of time, people's lifestyles and consumer psychology has undergone enormous changes. Under the impact of the process of globalization, Western dietetic culture has been come into collision with traditional Chinese dietetic culture and blend with each other, then gradually developed and evolved to a number of new dietetic culture and consumption patterns, cafes culture has produced and progressed in such a historical background.This article study on emergence and development of historical and cultural background of Cafe and its interior space design elements, with a focus on the analysis of its functional and decorative design which determined by the form of catering, and by compare and contrast with other major form of dietetic design, analyed the historical inevitability and uniqueness of it, made a conclusion of the blend of Chinese and Western dietetic culture, and put forward a set of design model that adapt to the current the restaurant industry.Firstly, this paper take the background and significance of the subject as the starting point, on the basis of conclusion and summarization of relevant theoretical research work at home and abroad, defined the content and scope clearly, and discussed the research method of this papers.Followed by the two aspects of "drinking" culture and "food" culture. made a brief statement and analysis at the dietetic culture in the East and West, then analyed the existence of new catering under the new concept of consumption, discussed the historical inevitability and uniqueness of cafes.THIRDLY, ANALYZED THE FUNCTION AND THE FORM OF CAFE FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF INTERIOR DESIGN. PROPOSED DISCUSSIONS OF THE MAIN PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS OF INTERIOR DESIGN OF THE CAFES BY A CLOSE CONNECTION WITH SPECIFIC DESIGN EXAMPLES AND ENGINEERING CASES. FIND OUT THE SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES BY COMPARE WITH OTHER FORMS OF CATERING INTERIOR DESIGN.MADE A CONCLUSION OF THE BLEND OF EAST AND WEST THAT REFLECTS FROM THE INTERIOR DESIGN OF CAFES.FINALLY, MADE A CONCLUSION OF THE ENTIRE THESIS,AND PUT FORWARD ALL THE CONCLUSIONS THAT MADE IN THE PROCESS OF ANALYSIS OF THIS PAPER.
