Toughness, cracking resistance and deformation capacity of concrete are improved by adding rubber powder. Rubber concrete pavement not only has common concrete pavement advantages in construction, fireproofing security, durability, but also a better riding comfort. At the same time, a new type of pavement-layer-steel fiber reinforced rubber concrete pavement is introduced by using a layer-steel fiber reinforced pavement structure. This composite pavement which has the advantages of rigid pavement and flexible pavement and covers their shortages is expected to improve road property.The main research work and achievements presented are outlined as following: firstly, physical-mechanical properties (compressive modulus of elasticity, compressive strength and axial compressive strength) of the rubber concrete are discussed through contrast experiment. Secondly, the influence of rubber powder and layer-steel fiber on concrete flexural strength and flexural toughness are researched by comparing the flexural properties of common concrete, rubber concrete, layer-steel fiber reinforced common concrete and layer-steel fiber reinforced rubber concrete. In the end, based on the theory of layered elastic system, layer-steel fiber reinforced rubber concrete pavement structure is analyzed, and the finite element model of this pavement structure is established. Under the action of load stress and thermal stress, the stress variation of different thickness of layer-steel fiber reinforced rubber concrete pavement and the stress variation of the same thickness of common concrete pavement, rubber concrete pavement, layer-steel fiber reinforced concrete pavement and layer-steel fiber reinforced rubber concrete pavement are analyzed by using the finite element method. This research will be a reference to the design of layer-steel fiber reinforced rubber concrete pavement structure.
