A Study On The Design Of Entrance Square Of The Modern Commercial Building

As the important public construction of the city, modern commercial construction distributes widely and the urban commercial space composed of these modern commercial constructions is always the most important public space of the city and convergent points and focus of public lives of citizens. As an important component of the modern commercial construction, its entrance square should not only conform to the characteristics and style of the construction itself and meet the demand of material and spiritual function of its own, but also should be related with its surroundings as the connection with outside. In this way, it could be subject to the general structure, pattern and function of the city and embody the respect to the natural and social environment.This thesis firstly classifies the modern commercial building entrance square by the study of space relationship and geometric form and gets the conclusion of its five characteristics that are commercial identification, whole space harmony, the harmony with the main construction, commercial utility and space fluidity; secondly, summarizes the functions of modern commercial building entrance square through two dimensions which are serving-served relationship of entrance square and commercial building and the positive impact of entrance square on the city; thirdly, analyzes human being's shopping philosophy and shopping behaviors as spiritual elements and construction entrance, base level, borderline, landscape and public establishment as material elements; lastly, based on the requirements of entrance square's commercial features, principles for design is established which include the integration of square environment, the regionalization of square culture and the uniqueness of square landscape, and further more, concludes the methods for function organizing which cover aggregation dividing, crowds guiding and vehicles separating and the methods for landscape shaping which include space organizing, detail disposing and main construction producing.
