As people's requirements of better Indoor Air Quality, central air-conditioning systems are widely used in large buildings. For the large numbers of decentralized subsystems and its complex structure, it needs to establish a network of control systems so as to mange and control the units and equipments which are disturbed in the central air-conditioning systems. With this system, we can achieve the aim of energy conservation and improve the ability of management. As we know, fan-coil is widely used in central air-conditioning systems, and the fan-coil control strategy directly affect the quality of operation results in air-conditioning systems, so the main target of this paper is to research the cluster control strategies on fan-coil units.Firstly, this paper briefly introduced the development of current building HVAC control system, described the structure and connecting style of fan-coil systems in particularly, analyzed the operating conditions of fan-coil and fresh system, and focused on the VWV and VAV conditioning modes in fan-coil units. Secondly, I analyzed the network protocol model commonly used in centralized control systems, and focus on the RS-485 communication protocol of the characteristics and working principle in connection with the network control technology.Thirdly, this paper focused on the cluster control strategies used in fan-coil units followed from the sub-control, time-of-use control, season control as well as the working conditions for discussion, and brought forward some control methods from the perspective of energy conservation. Finally, this paper analyzed and showed the process of constructing of fan-coil control system in one project from the hardware design and software design.
