Many industrial productions have the demand of real time measuring the level of solid raw material,semifinished product and finished product. The parameter of material level is very important for productions and scientific plans. But the circumstance in the bunker is usually very bad such as the cement bunker. There is too much suspending powder and electromagnetic interference in the bunker. Some material is inclined to curdle, and some material is liable to attach on the instruments. Many material level measurement instruments used universally can not work well in bad circumstance. So the design and development of new material level measurement instrument that can work well in bad circumstance is necessary.This paper developed a new material level measurement system aiming at bad circumstance in the bunker. I have developed the experiment equipment. By optimizing the design of sensor, the system can work very well in bad circumstance.The system is provided with the characters of high speed,real time measuring and high stability.Main works have been achieved:1. Completed the overall design of material level measurement system, including test theory and system structure etc.2. Completed the design of sensor, including the design of sensor structure and the design of flexibility component—beryllium bronze sheet.3. Completed the design of hardware based on MSP430 and CPLD, including the design of experiment circuit, and debug it.4. Completed the design of software of MSP430 and CPLD, including the module of data acquisition,data processing,sensor controlling and display etc.5. Finished the experiments of material level measurement system and the analysis of the results.
