Analyse volume reinforcement characteristic's effect to specially shaped column's capability according to the uniaxial compression experimental data, which is based on 33 special-shaped and square-section columns of different volume reinforcement char- acteristics. The stress-strain curve for every column is drawn, and volume reinforcem- ent characteristic's effect to the strength and ductility of specially shaped columns is analyzed according to the experimental data, the fit variation scope of volume reinf- orcement characteristic is obtained. volume reinforcement characteristics have great effect to the strength and ductility of specially shaped columns. The stress-strain curve for confined concrete is induced, and volume reinforcement characteristic's effect to the strength and ductility of confined concrete is analyzed. volume reinforcement characteristic's effect to the strength and ductility of confined concrete is obvious.The result shows: the ductility and load of specially shaped columns can be enhanced by increasing volume reinforcement characteristics. But they can't be much more enhanced by increasing volume reinforcement characteristics when it reach the single value. volume reinforcement characteristics have great effect to the strength and ductility to confined concrete of specially shaped columns.Analyse if these models that are compared to the experimental data are suitable. There is no model which is fit to special-shaped columns, and at last the fit model is induced.
