Basing on the great development of aerospace technology, guided missile weapon has become more and more important to the national defence and strategic, for every country. The guided missile weapon has been proved clearly to be powerful, in the Gulf-War to Iraq and the socalled Peace-Keeping Activities in former Yugoslavia, which were both launched by USA. After that, the research and development to guided missile became blooming around the world.The hit successful rate of a guided missile depends directly upon the performance of its guidance system, and the later is decided by the seeker in the missile. According to the guidance way, the seeker can be classified as infrared seeker, laser seeker, radar seeker and so on. Because the propagation loss of infrared, laser and visible light are much higher than that of microwave in atmosphere, and then can only reach shorter distance than radar, that makes the microwave radar seeker became the main trend gradually. Radar seeker is the key component in missile weapons, and determines directly the guidance performance of missile. It's ncecessary and important to test the seeker completely, before installed into missile. Therefore, the development of kinds of radar seeker requires higher testing technich. In this paper, a testing and controlling system of some radar seeker is researched and designed.The paper introduces firstly the development of radar seeker and its testing controlling system, and describes the main parts and their function of radar seeker automation testing controlling system. And basing on the testing technical specification and testing target required by a radar seeker automation testing and controlling system, the paper bring forward the design thought and realize scheme.The testing and controlling system is composed by target simulator controlling, programed signal source controlling and testing & controlling platform. The paper introduces the hardware design of the testing & controlling platform and target simulator, and explain the operation principle and design method of target simulator. The target simulator is constructed with SCM and PLC. The paper analyses the work flow of SCM and PLC The software design of the testing control platform is based on the virtual instrument technich. It transfers the data and instruction among the target simulator, programed signal source and radar seeker. The test result is dispayed and also saved into the testing & controlling platform.Finally, we made a series experiments on the testing & controlling system, and verify the measurement performance of the testing & controlling platform. It accumulates experience about the radar seeker testing and controlling and prepares the theory and test foundation for the testing and controlling system of other type radar seeker and general purpose radar seeker.
