Urban commercial space is an important part of urban space.It is correspondently undergoing some change such as the extension of urban space,the adjustment of industrial structure and the recombination of social space in China.Research on the discussion of the evolutionary mechanism will provide theoretical support for the change of the urban commercial space.It will be beneficial to optimum allocation of urban commercial space,helpful in improving the benefits of firms,and useful to playing the role of commercial space in urban space.For the above the purpose,a preliminary research is done in this thesis.We proposed definition the commercial space at first.Commercial space is the formation,distribution and configuration in space form of commerce.Secondly,we stated the internal operation form and exterior space.Then we discussed the influence factors.Exterior factors which cause the change of commercial form and commercial space include the form of city,location,transportation,population,consumption and history.Government behavior plays a role in guiding.As an oversize central city,the commercial space in Chengdu is typical. To investigate the history and distribution status of commercial space in Chengdu,we analyzed the related date.Then we analyzed the factors which will influence the commercial space in Chengdu based on the theoretical.The commercial form of Chengdu is abundant.The hierarchical structure is significant.Commerce is agglomerate in the city center.In the future,the traditional commercial space in Chengdu will strengthen.Also it will extend southward and eastward which is followed the extension of city.This thesis combines theories with case studies.
