As the mass concrete structure, Roller Compacted Concrete Dam may have cracks caused by load and non-load. The thermal, dead load and water pressure is the main cause of the crack and they have great influence on safety and the function of using to the building.. Regarding high roller compaction concrete gravity dam, because the basic position of dam body is very large along the size of visiting the direction from head to foot, restricted by construction equipment, ability, the requests of temperature stress and combined stress or the ground characteristic etc.,devise a longitudinal joint or not is a disputed problem. This article main research the stress influence of device longitudinal joint to dam.This article adopt the method that international large-scale software ANSYS of finite element in common use combines with subject calculation procedure of independent development to realize the dam longitudinal joint simulation computation. The contacting element model is used to simulation the longitudinal joint of the dam. According to heat conduction theory, elastic creep theory, finite element theory and contacting element calculation theory, the 3-D finite element simulation program for RCC dam is worked out to simulate the temperature field and the thermal stress field of the RCC dam with the longitudinal joint. In this paper, the 3-D finite element relocating mesh method is used to calculate the thermal stress field and establish the gravity dam model with the ANSYS software, calculate the stress produced with dead load and water pressure. And then plus the above stress by program we will obtion the combined stress. This article analyzed the longitudinal joint's influence to dam heel, upstream face, dam center spot, dam toe, downstream face temperature stress as well as the combined stress and summarize the law, obtains some value conclusion, offered certain theoretical foundation for the thing that designed the dam longitudinal joint and the further fundamental research.
