A Study On The Urban Waterfront Landscape Programming

Through the analyze of the urban waterfront development and summary of the flaws of domestic the urban waterfront landscape design, this research try tried to solve the problems of distributing resources of landscape, of localizing the scheme image, of expressing characters of landscape, of arranging the activities on landscape, and so on, the purpose of which was providing a more scientific and systematic decision-making process for later planning and designing for urban landscape.In Chapter 1 I introduced the origin of this subject and its research status, proposed the purpose and framework of this research, and gave the definition of important terms.In Chapter 2 I demonstrated the histories of development of urban waterfront, and summarized its current problems of urban waterfront landscape construction, and detailed the problems from the microscopes, and proposed the solutions of programming.In Chapter 3 I introduced the concept of programming, defined the dialectical relationship of programming stage and other stages of planning, and proposed the content of programming urban waterfront landscape, the steps of carrying out and the theoretical basis.In Chapter 4 I contribute the decision-making factors of programming urban waterfront landscape to the pattern of its development, society, region, landscape resources and ecology of environment, and proposed the goal of programming urban waterfront landscape after the discussion of each factor.In Chapter 5 I discussed in detail in the 4 aspects of scheme image, landscape characters, activities on landscape and environment protection, and proposed a systematic strategy of designing, clarifying the direction of planning in the level of operation and providing a scientific basis for late planning.In Chapter 6 I discussed the practical method of programming urban waterfront landscape, which have tested the theory I referred in the former of this paper. In last Chapter I made a summary and prospect of this subject.
