The folk culture, belonging to the Intangible Heritage, is formed in the longtime human social life and it represents the culture of the huge majority. As a type of human aesthetical psychology, the folk aesthetical psychology is featured with the universality, different from the refined tastes of literators and scholars and from the understanding of beauty by the ruling classes. And characterized with strong customs and collective identification, it is often transformed from practical functions with a utilitarian color.Decoration art, one of the most ancient art forms for human beings, is the particular practice of human beings as well as a way to hold the world through asethetics. It originates from people's daily life and its marked feature is practical utilitarianism. The flourish of folk culture makes the emergence of various practical decoration art, which fully presents aesthetical psychology in all directions from daily life. Decoration art with spiritual symbol unostentatiously reflect most people's best wishes to life,implicatively express the characters and morality of our nation and are possessed of an inner spiritual value.Bearing the aim of researching the influence of Chinese folk culture on the decoration art, the thesis firstly analyzes the origins of Chinese folk culture; dissects the characters of folk aesthetical psychology; then elaborates the effects of folk culture on the decoration art in the perspectives of creativity, manifestation ways and color expression and so on; and lastly explores the application methods of folk decoration art in the modern designing through case analysis.
