Leaf spring is an important component of automotive suspension systems, it plays the role of transmission and buffer all the power and torque between the frame and the wheels. It is the key parts and components to support the automotive main part, and it also the vulnerability part of motor vehicles. With the development of the automobile industry, the demand of automotive steel spring is growing more and more, the requirements of its performance and quality are getting higher and higher.In order to improve the leaf spring production quality and performance, in this paper, we have made the following research on hot stamping of leaf spring:(1) According to the sheet metal forming principle and thermodynamic principle which concerned in the hot stamping of 60Si2Mn leaf spring, we concluded the essence of hot stamping technology of leaf spring, which is the stamping technology combined the sheet metal forming and quenching heat treatment process.(2)According to analysis the material of 60Si2Mn, we can get the heating temperature, heating time and soaking time of steel, which provide a set of valuable parameter for intelligent control system of leaf spring quenching molding machine.(3)By the finite element simulation software LS-DYNA, we can do thermal coupling analysis of leaf spring hot stamping process, get some distribution and change features between temperature and stress field in the sheet metal forming process, summed up the sheet initial temperature and mold temperature impact on hot forming of leaf spring.As the leaf spring is in great demand in China, design high-quality molding machine quenching equipment will bring high economy value, we can get some useful parameters for designing intelligent control systems of leaf spring quenching molding machine from this study.
