Blessed by the nature,Yangtze River is the most developed and busiest navigable river with the largest scale among China's inland rivers.Compared with other transport modes,by making use of the natural channels and man-made water ways,inland river navigation can avoid occupying land or occupy little land. It is characterized by large carrying capacity,low cost and energy-saving and environmental friendliness.Volume of the Yangtze River's cargo transportation is more than 30% of the total cargo turnover.Shipping in the Yangtze river plays a vital role in the development of the area.However, with the growth of the Yangtze River shipping demand and the irrational use of water resources in the Yangtze River, Yangtze River flow dramatically reduced, resulting ship resistance in the winter dry season ,and even frequent short-term Duanhang accidents. It greatly limits the ability of the Yangtze waterway capcity.When these ships exceeded maximum draught take a risk to pass through the shallow water dangerous channel of the Yangtze River waterway, it easily lead to the ship grounding,and make the silt Sediment rapidly in traffic, and destroy waterways traffic.It not only damage the fairway, but also affect the smooth flow of shipping.Detecting ships draft timely is an effective way to prevent the ship grounding and Duanhang accident timely. In the dry season at both ends of shallow water,the draft of passing ships would be measured. Through the study on dynamic detection method of ship draught, the corresponding equipment would be designed. It will be an extremely important role on prohibiting the occurrence of maritime accidents because of overloading.The major achievements of this research could be summarized as follows:1,Combined with the topic of the research, the information related to the research is collected and collated.The main reasons of the sonar as a means of measuring is analysed. It's widely application is known.Five ways of dynamical measurement on ship draft have been put forward.2,In this foundation, five methods of dynamical measurement on ship draught are analysed and compared. Through experiments,the theoretical feasibility of the plan is tested and verified.3,According to the best way of side-scan sonar image processing,the feasibility plan of dynamic measurement method of ship draught has been completed.
