With the progress of investigation and application of biomass gasification technology, the influence of biomass gasification tar aroused much attention. In this paper, the status of main groups of catalysts were concluded. The catalyst systems for conversion of tar in cracking gas of biomass were reviewed in this article. Some catalysts were made using the carrier of cordierite, catalytic cracking experiments on biomass tar indicated that the activity of catalyst NiO/cordierte was higher than others. With benzene and toluene as model compound of tar, the effect of temperature, steam content and space velocity for tar catalytic conversion were investigated in a fixed bed reactor over catalyst dolomite and cordierite. The experimental results indicated that the conversion improved with increasing temperature and decreasing space velocity. At temperature of 900℃, the conversion of toluene over catalyst cordierite and dolomite could reach 96% using a molar ratio of steam/carbon (S/C) equal to 1.5; At same reaction temperature, the conversion of benzene over catalyst cordierite and dolomite could reach 61% and 53% separately using a molar ratio of S/C equal to 0.5. The steam obviously eliminated the coking, high steam content was favorable to adjust gas component. Stability experiment indicated that coking was the central reason for catalyst deactivation. The process mechanism of toluene catalytic cracking was investigated in kinetics view. The model was used to simulate the catalytic cracking under different cracking conditions, and good results were achieved by comparison with experiment data. |
