Along with the austere situations of the traffic, people require more and more safety in driving vehicles. Traditional vehicle safety control system play its role by active safety or passive safety independent. The vehicle safety control system based on combined active and passive safety can play effective role in protecting vehicle's integrated security in the entire process of accident. It is very efficient for reduce road accident rate and injury rate. In China, the research in this field is at very beginning. So that the more technical study on the system will be essential improving comprehensive road safety.Firstly, the development of the vehicle safety control system is reviewed in this dissertation. Then, the scheme of the structural and control of the vehicle safety system is designed from the view of combined active & passive safety based on defining the functions of the system, and the key technologies involved in the system and their relationship are determined.According to the system planning, the dynamics modeling of the collision avoidance system has been built in the CarSim software and the inverse dynamics modeling have been development based on it. The studied dynamics model can be used to simulate the dynamic characteristics of the collision avoidance system under some complicated working conditions. Furthermore the veracity and simplicity have been compromised in the model. It is the basis to realize and evaluate the system function.After established the human simulated distance model used for security status judge, the control system of the collision avoidance system is developed. The expect acceleration calculated by driver's preview model. The longitudinal speed is controlled by PID speed controller. The control system achieved anticipant speed and safety distance control.Finally, through simulation with several typical working Conditions, the system functions and its corresponding research achievements are investigated. The results show that the collision avoidance control system has realized its fundamental system function, and the designed system scheme is reasonable. It has Valuable reference and guide for related research application.
