Solar-thermal power generation system is a mode of renewable energy generation. Combing with fossil fuel units to form a mixed generation system, not only can avoid a simple system of solar-thermal power generation requiring expensive regenerative equipment due to instability in solar radiation, but also can improve the solar-thermal power generation efficiency, reduce fossil fuel consumption effectively and alleviate the environmental pollution. In this paper, a study on the compounding generation system about the parabolic trough solar collectors and the coal-fired units is made. Thermal economic analysis about the effects on the compounding generation system in different places, different capacities of coal-fired units, as well as different designed radiation intensity will be involved in. I also make an elementary technical and economic calculation about this kind of generation system. This will be a useful attempt of the thermal power generation technology application in China.
