The Arc Protection System And Its Application To The Internal Fault Of LV/MV Switchgear And The Busbar

In recent years, as the rapid development of the electric power industry of WuHai , 35kV mid-voltage switchgears are used more and more. These incidents that switchgears arc fault in the voltage -induced busbar breakdowns occur, and also occurred due to the main transformer short-circuit current external impact damage accidents have caused great economic losses. On the other hand, the requirements of the customers in the reliability of electricity supply are also getting higher and higher. For the above reasons, WuHai electric power administration installs a professional rapid bus protection- Arc Light Protection.This paper firstly introduces the requirement of dynamic stability time of switchgear and transformer arc fault for the protection action time of low-voltage busbar; secondly introduces protection measures of switchgear arc fault and the existing program of low voltage busbar protection; at last introduces a new type of arc protection in the low-voltage busbar .Then, its application in WuHai is analyzed and proved.
