Concrete filled steel tube(CFST)arch bridge is an ideal structure in long span arch bridge due to its light self-weight, strong intensity, strong power of resisting strain, strong power of carrying capacity. According to statistics, more than 200 concrete filled steel tube arch bridges have been built in China and a lot of successful experiences in construction and designing of concrete steel tube arch bridges have been developed.The author has found quantitative detection of defect in CFST arch bridge with ultrasonic detecting technology was not mature,according to studing a great deal of related data and research results. Especially application research on practical engineering.This paper describes the concrete inanition and the disfigurement of the hance of real bridge theoretically with higher reliability. And the detailed contents are as follows:(1) The author has learned a lot of references both domestic and overseas about the designing, investigated the ultrasonic detecting technology appling on qualitative and quantitative detection of defect of concrete filled steel tube (CFST) arch rib segment, especially qualitative calculation, providing reference for this research;(2) Basic principle is described,and discuss each parameter of ultrasonic detecting technology for its effect to quantification calculation of defect;(3) According to the introduce of ultrasonic testing device and the selection of optimum detective condition, conclusion the concrete process and method of testing by ultrasonic detecting technology and the compiling of record and report;(4) Emphasis is placed on the evenness of concrete,which is the precondition of quantification calculation;(5)According to the application of rational ultrasonic detecting technology on 2 real bridge, summarizing the general procedures for quantitative detection of defect in CFST arch bridge with ultrasonic detecting technology. Finally the prospect of next step and ultrasonic detecting technology used on other related disciplines are given.
