Cable car is handling machinery lead to follow slope drawn by fairleader along inclined approach with steel wire rope, suited to port with Large Range of Stage Upstream, dominated by general cargo and Heavy Track and general imports and exports. With implementing western region an export-oriented economy, the Yangtze Rive container carriage promptly develop, bringing along rapid growth of container case Carriage Volume in upstream of the Yangtze Rive, and there are Many builded and building wheel pressure on inclined container cable car. There is designing irrationality in operating wheel pressure on inclined container cable car, because there is not load codes followed when they was designed.Entrusted by Ministry of communications harbor engineering load committee, ChongQing JiaoTong University River-sea College accepted the work of measuring wheel pressure on JiuLongpo container cable car and feasibility analysis in 2006. Adopted electrical measurement, Chongqing Jiulongpo port 40 feet and 20 feet container four-wheel wheel pressure was tracked tests of the whole process. This paper is based on the assignment.The measuring principle of wheel pressure on container cable car is described in this paper, based on test results at Chongqing JiuLong Po container terminal, the probability model of the wheel pressure is presented and the stander values of the wheel pressure and non-uniformity coefficient in the base period (50 years) are obtained. Based on the field data, the berthing velocities have been numerically simulated by using Monte Carlo method in this paper. After statistical tests, it shows that the maximum values of the berthing velocity follow a Gumber distribution and the probability curves of failure for the means of maximum values are also obtained.
