This article focuses on introducing works and architectural theory of Bernard Tschumi. Tschumi is a Switzerland culture background architect and his experience and mulit- culture background offered him different view of modernism architecture. His works don't follow the rational thinking in modernism movement and attempt to explore a brand new territory of architectural field when modernism movement faced with serious problem during 1960s.He pay attentions to the boundary of architecture studying and continue critical think of architectural theory thus he developed a 'tran' prefix architectural theory. This thinking promise his works are in rich in various quotes from different study fields,however, his first work is about exploring the edge of architecture which was the first step for him to find flexible definition of architectural studying.His designs do not originated from his thinking of context but the possibility of events which effected by the substance exist. After analysis the articles ,paper projects and building done by him, this article summaries the main point that Bernard Tschumi concerns in his works which is also important for Chinese architect today.The article also presents his other works for complete understanding of his design methods and philosophies in architecture.
