Deconstructionist was a philosophy thought that originally came from France in the later of 1960's period. At first, its influence was mainly in philosophy and literary criticism. After 1970's, some architects attempted to apply its theory in the architecture in order to break the traditional thought. In the 80's, deconstructionist architect Bernard Tschumi applied it to the park creation--La Villette Park that was the only deconstructionist park form in the world.Because of the difficulty of the philosophy, lots of people cannot understand it correctly. Few of landscape architects introduced deconstructionist philosophy, deconstructionist building and landscape detailedly and systematically. When studied it, they often didn't confer to deconstructionist philosophy at all. So they could not analyze it intensely. Does the La Villette park can go through the time or not? What meaning in it? The paper studied it as follows:1. Firstly, it presented simply the social root and the philosophy root of the deconstructionist and summarized its characteristics from three aspects in linguistics, philosophy and designing. Then it companioned with deconstructionist architecture to promote the correct and profound understanding of deconstructionist.2. Taking the Paris Park La Villette as the example, it introduces detailedly the background of the park design and the designer. It also explained its layout by points, lines and area structure.3 It summarized the production and the development of the deconstructionist landscape by the further analysis. It also analyzed its status and significance in the landscape history. Then, it elicited seven deconstruct features with the deconstructionist philosophy which wanted to deepen these regarding characteristics understanding and to open the new field of the modern landscape design. Finally, it manifested the transcendence of the traditional west garden through the comparison the La Villette Park with the Paris Versailles Palace garden. 4. Gives our enlightenment on the Chinese modern garden from 3 aspects: the Paris city, the philosophy as well as the Paris La Villette Park. So, this article analyzed the deconstructionist philosophy detailedly and summed up the main features of it. Taking the deconstructionist buildings for example, this article also helped to understand deconstructionist more intensely. The park of the La Villette gave an example of the deconstructionist landscape designing. It tried to expand the using of deconstructionist in the landscape designing. I hope it can give landscape designer more messages and push the development of the landscape theory study in china.
